Welcome to prayforthehomeless.org. This site offers you the opportunity to meet someone who is homeless and pray for them. We also include people who have recently been homeless and are in recovery from homelessness. They all have one thing in common: they need the power and blessings of your prayers. A small percentage of the homeless are able to stay in public shelters or other temporary accommodations for short periods, but the majority of these people sleep in abandoned buildings, warehouses or under bridges each night. We invite you to pick a different person to pray for each week and share this idea with a friend. This site is in the process of development. You can expect it to grow and change over the coming weeks and months. We invite your feedback and comments by email at prayforthehomeless@gmail.com.

Billy P. - Prayer candidate 118

Billy is 55 years old and was born in Birmingham, Alabama before moving to Los Angelos at a very young age.He is a gifted and talented musician who used to play drums for the famous 1970s band the O.J.’s and also worked as a studio musician in Los Angeles. He is also a veteran of the US Army. Now Billy is a member of the homeless community in Birmingham and frequently plays in the praise band at Church of the Reconciler. Billy gets work during the week wherever he can find it. For many years he has slept in a camp with his homeless friend Anthony. Billy suffers with addiction issues and seeks God’s healing in his life. Please pray that Billy will be able to stay dry, healthy and warm this winter.

Update:  Billy has just received a note from someone using this website who wanted him to know that they are praying for him. He was very touched by their kindness in taking time to write to him.
