Marshall is 60 years old and suffers from Parkinson’s disease. He is known in the homeless community as “Ray or Shakey.” Up until October of 2009 Ray was still able to walk on his own, but his condition has now deteriorated to the point that he needs a wheel chair. Ray has no home and sleeps on the street wherever he can find shelter. He can often be seen sitting alone in his wheel chair beside the 3rd Ave. North exit ramp from I-65 northbound in downtown Birmingham or near the dumpster beside Church of the Reconciler. Ray asks that you pray for his legs and his ability to get where he needs to go in order to get food. Update: Ray recently received a card from someone who is praying for him. He was very encouraged and thanks those who pray for him.
Update: Ray's condition continues to deteriorate and he is beginning to experience memory problems. Please pray for him as he spends each day and night out in the weather, mostly alone.
